One-day course in hand building

We work with the hand building techniques in ceramics - thumbing, rolling and ringing. These are techniques that provide the opportunity for your own creation without you having previous experience of working with clay. Homemade soup and coffee are served for lunch. There are a maximum of nine participants on the course and there are two of us as supervisors in a pleasant and creative environment. We glaze for you and your creations are ready to collect about 2 weeks after the course.

Weekend course

No prior knowledge is necessary, we meet you at the level you are at and help you along the way with both inspiration, logistics and technology.

On the weekend course, we work with the hand building techniques in ceramics - thumbing, rolling and ringing. These are techniques that provide the opportunity for your own creation without you having previous experience of working with clay.

There are a maximum of eight participants per course and we are two teachers who supervise in our inspiring environment. The course includes 5 kg of clay (price for clay in addition to 5 kg is SEK 115/kilo). We have several different stoneware clays to choose from. After about two weeks, we meet for glazing, so you get to try all the steps in the process from clay to finished ceramic work. During the weekend, we offer homemade vegetarian soup and good coffee. At the glazing there is coffee.

Try turning

For you with little or no turning experience. We go through the basics of turning and then you practice further under the guidance of Karin and Nilla. There are a maximum of six participants on the course and everyone has their own turntable. Since it is a try-on opportunity, we will help you to coat and glaze (two-three pieces per participant), these are ready to pick up about 2 weeks after the course.
